Laser Dentistry

Dental lasers have revolutionized oral surgery, tooth preparation, and many other procedures. Dr. Çerekja uses both a soft and hard tissue laser for optimal patient comfort and precise clinical applications. Laser dentistry is used for:

  • Preparing teeth for fillings, veneers, and crowns
  • Sculping teeth or gums for a more pleasing appearance
  • Bone and gum grafting
  • Periodontal therapy
  • Frenectomies
  • Cold sore treatment
  • Biopsies
  • Cavity detection

Our hard tissue laser works on teeth and bone. With laser tooth preparation, many patients do not even require anesthesia. The laser emits no heat, vibration, or smoke, which are the main causes of discomfort from a traditional dental drill. Furthermore, because laser dentistry is so precise, Dr. Çerekja can keep more natural tooth structure intact.

The soft tissue laser is used for gum and skin tissue. The soft tissue laser can remove periodontal infection from pockets, and the laser promotes fast reattachment of gums to teeth. In procedures where gum tissue is removed, no sutures are required. The laser seals skin as it moves along, so this minimally invasive therapy causes less trauma and pain than traditional surgery. As a result, healing time is much faster.
